What Is a Proxy Checker?

A proxy checker is an essential tool for anyone working with proxy servers. It allows you to verify whether your proxies are online, measure their response time (latency), detect their geographic location, and determine their anonymity level. Our free proxy checker uses asynchronous testing to validate hundreds of proxies simultaneously — giving you results in seconds, not minutes.

Whether you're a web scraper, SEO specialist, digital marketer, or developer building distributed applications, knowing which proxies work before deploying them saves you time, money, and frustration. Our tool supports HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5 protocols, and handles proxies with or without authentication credentials.

Blazing Fast

Asynchronous concurrent checking tests 5 proxies at a time with real-time results streaming.

Geo Detection

Automatically detects the country and location of each working proxy for geo-targeting needs.

Export Results

Export only working proxies to a clean text file with one click — ready for immediate use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What formats does the proxy checker support?
Our proxy checker supports two common formats: IP:PORT (e.g., 192.168.1.1:8080) and IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD for proxies that require authentication. You can paste multiple proxies, one per line.
How many proxies can I check at once?
There is no hard limit on the number of proxies you can check. However, we process 5 proxies concurrently to balance speed with reliability. For lists of 1,000+ proxies, the check may take a few minutes.
Is this proxy checker free to use?
Yes, our proxy checker is completely free with no account required. You can use it unlimited times to test HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5 proxies without any registration or payment.
How does the speed test work?
Each proxy is tested by making a real HTTP request through it to a test endpoint. We measure the total round-trip time in milliseconds (ms). Lower latency means a faster proxy — under 500ms is considered good, and under 200ms is excellent.
What does "Alive" vs "Dead" mean?
An "Alive" proxy successfully responded to our test request within the timeout window (10 seconds). A "Dead" proxy either failed to connect, timed out, or returned an error — meaning it's not usable for web requests.
Does this tool check proxy anonymity levels?
Our current version checks basic connectivity, speed, and geolocation. Anonymity level detection (transparent, anonymous, elite) is available through our premium proxy dashboard and will be added to this free tool in a future update.
Can I check SOCKS5 proxies?
Yes! Our checker supports HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5 protocols. Simply paste your SOCKS5 proxies in the IP:PORT format and the tool will automatically detect and test the correct protocol.
Why do some working proxies show as "Dead"?
There are several reasons: the proxy may have a high latency exceeding our 10-second timeout, it may require specific authentication, or it could be temporarily overloaded. Try checking again later or reduce the concurrent load.
Can I export only the working proxies?
Absolutely. After checking is complete, click the "Export Working" button to download a clean text file containing only the alive proxies in IP:PORT format — ready for immediate use in your tools.
Where can I get reliable proxies to check?
We recommend using premium proxy providers like 5G Proxy for reliable, high-speed proxies. Our residential, datacenter, and mobile proxy pools maintain 99.9% uptime with enterprise-grade infrastructure across 190+ countries.
